Maureen Rubin, MA., BCBA

Maureen Rubin has a degree in psychology, is a certified nursery school teacher, elementary school teacher and teacher of the handicapped; with a masters degree in Administration, Supervision and Curriculum Planning.In addition, she completed post graduate work in applied behavior analysis and is a board certified behavior analyst.Her experience includes instructing regular education students before teaching children with special needs in self-contained classes.Her pre-school autism classroom served as a model VB classroom for Parents of Children with Autism (POAC) and was observed by more than 100 professionals from all over the United States , Canada and Ireland .

Ms. Rubin helped develop for POAC an eight-part workshop series Teaching Children with Autism in Public School Settings ( was also instrumental in establishing the Verbal Behavior Network (, a collaborative web-based solution designed to assist professionals that work with children with autism.

After over 17 years as a classroom teacher Ms. Rubin currently holds the position as Teacher Coach for the Autism Program in a public school district in New Jersey in which she services the staff in thirteen schools.Her position includes coordinating the Parent Training Series, writing IEPS, working with child study teams and administrators.
Ms. Rubin has helped VBN Training to create assessments, manuals, and workshops used by school districts and administration to assess and train staff.As a trainer, she specializes in helping teachers to establish, manage and maintain a classroom environment that is consistent with ABA principles with an emphasis on verbal behavior.In addition, she has provided training and hands-on support for classrooms in New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, and Ireland.
