Many children with autism and other developmental disabilities have difficulty generalizing social skills outside of the classroom/therapy room. This workshop will provide teachers, therapists, and parents with an overview of strategies to effectively teach and generalize social skills to the home and community.
Specifically, participants will be able to:
• Choose appropriate skills to be taught.
• List the steps for teaching more structured social skills lessons.
• Discuss strategies for presenting advanced social skills such as cartooning, social stories, hero cards, etc.
